PM has special affinity towards army personnel: Rakesh Mahajan

Seeks support for BJP candidate in ensuing Lok Sabha polls

KATHUA: BJP Government at the Centre led by PM Modi has time and again proved that it is very much concerned towards those who have dedicated their lives for the safety and security of the country and the decision of one rank one pension was one of the steps taken to testify this stand of the government.

This was stated by Rakesh Mahajan, Incharge BJP All Cells, J&K, while holding an Election Campaign Meeting in support of Dr. Jitendra Singh, Party’s candidate for Doda, Kathua, Udhampur Lok Sabha seat at Village Palli in district Kathua. Lt. Gen. (Retd) R.K. Sharma, Spokesperson, BJP, J&K; S.K Sharma IT Commissioner (Retd), Convenor Professional Cell, BJP, Sham Langer Convenor BJP Trade Cell, Capt Retd Pathania, Capt Balbir Joshi were also present on the occasion.

During the meeting, Army Officers and jawans retired from the armed forces were present.

Rakesh said that the decision to revise the pension of Armed Forces pensioners was a vital step in fulfilling the promise made with the defence personnel of the country as the decision for the aforesaid revision of pension of retired Armed Force personnel was taken long time back when the OROP was implemented.

He said that BJP Government led by PM Modi has no match as the previous dispensations in the country never gave such importance to the armed forces personnel as the helmsmen during that time took the men in olives for granted. He said that PM has special affinity towards the army personnel as since last so many years, he spent Diwali night along borders with Jawans and officers deputed out there to save the country from the enemies.

Rakesh Mahajan also highlighted the transformative decade under Modi’s leadership, emphasizing bold reforms and decisive actions that propelled India forward in various sectors. He credited Modi’s proactive governance for boosting investor confidence, fostering innovation, and generating millions of jobs.

The senior BJP leader also praised Dr. Jitendra Singh for his dedication to governance and setting new standards in serving the people. He emphasized Singh’s significant contributions to the Union Territory’s development and celebrated his role as a “son of the soil” and key figure in the PMO, a source of pride for all residents.

Lt. Gen. (Retd) R.K. Sharma, Spokesperson, BJP, J&K, in his address, said that he praises the Modi Government for its unwavering commitment to national security and welfare of armed forces personnel. He also lauded the government’s efforts in strengthening India’s defense capabilities and modernizing the armed forces to effectively counter emerging threats.

Retired Army Officers and jawans who were present in the meeting expressed that they support a political party that prioritizes the nation’s interests.
