Panchayat Account Assistants, CIC Operators imparted skill training in Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, May 18: A comprehensive training programme was  conducted today for all Panchayat Account Assistants (PAAs) and Community Information Centre (CICs) operators of the district Kishtwar here in the conference Hall DC Office Complex.

The training session was held under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner, Sham Lal which aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge to foster the development of Model Villages within the region.

  ACP, Zakir Hussain Wani; ACD, Sunil Bhutyal, All BDOs, Executive Engineers, AEEs and others attended the training programme.

The training programme focused on providing detailed insight into the prescribed format, as shared by Director Sanitation J&K, concerning various aspects such as Door to Door waste collection, construction of Solid Waste Management sheds and Community Sanitation Centres, and Individual Household Latrine (IHHL) construction.

These initiatives form an integral part of the UT’s mission to ensure the establishment of Model Villages.

During the session, ACP Kishtwar Zakir Hussain Wani highlighted the significance of UT J&K being declared a Model UT with all Model Villages by 1st August 2023.

The trainees were motivated to strive diligently towards achieving this ambitious goal and were provided with in-depth guidance on the prescribed format.

Additionally, ADDC Kishtwar presided over a review meeting  of the progress made in implementing MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) and PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana). A series of directives were issued to the PAAs and CIC operators (MIS) to ensure the timely updating of activities on the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) portal.

ACD, Sunil Bhutyal  informed that all 156 villages encompassing 136 panchayats in the district are set to be declared as Aspiring, Rising, and Model Villages by 20th June. This announcement underscores the UT administration’s commitment to accelerate the comprehensive development of the district.

The training programme aims towards creating sustainable, well-developed Model Villages in Kishtwar.
