Orientation Programme on ‘Non-Communicable Diseases’ held at Doda

DODA, March 15: A day long orientation programme on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and Universal Screening of NCD for the MLHPS and FMPHWs of the District was held at the District Training Centre, Trauma Hospital Khellani in Doda District, here today.

The workshop was organized by District Health Society Doda under National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, CVD & Stroke (NPCDCS) and other health schemes, which aims to enhance the basic skill and knowledge of the health professionals about various components of health schemes.

Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Doda, Dr Ab Hamid Zargar presided over the programme as the chief guest on the occasion.

During the orientation programme, the resource persons imparted training to participants to conduct surveys about the non- communicable diseases in their areas. They were also enlightened about how to collect information and date about the status of such diseases by using the tablet devices.

CMO Doda stressed upon the participants to perform their duty with dedication and empathy and directed to do the NCD reporting with precision on a daily basis.

He emphasized that management, control and treatment of NCDs is a high priority area for the government, it is therefore important that mass screening, early treatment and continuous follow up is made a integral part of public health delivery system, CMO added.

Meanwhile, orientation on IHIP (IDSP) was also given to the participants on the occasion wherein they were educated about their role in disease surveillance in their areas in proper implementation of IHIP at gross root level.

The workshop was attended by Umar Anayat (Epidemiologist), Mohd Faheem Butt (FLC NCD), Dr Manjeet Singh besides paramedical staff including MLHPs/FMPHWs from Assar, Bhaderwah, Gandoh, Ghat and Thathri medical blocks.
