Online Defrauded Funds of ₹1.19 lakh recovered by Cyber Crime unit in Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, 29 February 2024: The Cyber Crime Investigation Unit of District Police Kishtwar has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to combating cybercrime by successfully solving another case and recovering online defrauded funds totaling Rs. 1,19,786.

*In a statement issued by the SSP Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom-JKPS,* the unit received four complaints from Bilal Ahmed online defrauded amount of Rs. 53,200, Rayees Ahmed online defrauded amount of Rs. 25000, Rakesh Kumar online defrauded amount of Rs. 20986, & Parvaiz Ahmed online defrauded amount of Rs. 20,600, reporting instances of online fraud related to gaming activities, mobile recharge, and malicious links, resulting in a total loss of Rs. 1,19,786.

During the investigation, the cyber investigation team, led by PSI Amrinder Singh, exhibited relentless determination and advanced skills, ultimately leading to the successful recovery of defrauded funds amounting to Rs. 1,19,786. This achievement underscores the unit’s expertise, dedication, and tireless efforts in safeguarding citizens against digital threats.
