One-day orientation prog under NILP held for voluntary educators/ teachers in Nubra

LEH, May 13: Education Department, Leh  organised a one-day orientation/ training programme under the New India Literacy Programme (NILP) for the voluntary educators and teachers at Tribal Hostel, Diskit, Nubra sub-division.

Zonal Education Officer, Nubra, Sonam Stobdan, briefed about New India Literacy Programme, previously known as Adult Education. He added that the NILP scheme is targeted at all non-literates aged 15years and above. He highlighted the five components, including Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, Critical Life Skulls, Basic Education, Vocational Skills and Holistic Education.

Master from Govt High School, Panamik, Tsering Phuntsog was the resource person, who spoke at length about the five components under NILP.

The training programme concluded with distribution of books and stationery to all the fifty voluntary educators of Diskit block and vote of thanks by Zonal Education Planning Officer, Nubra.
