One-Day Awareness Workshop on PMFME Scheme organized at Champa Batote

RAMBAN, JUNE 03: The Department of Horticulture and Marketing, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary today organised a one-day awareness workshop on the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme here at Panchayat Ghar Champa, Block Batote.

The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of a large number of farmers, SHG members, and officers/officials from the Agriculture, Horticulture, Cooperative Departments, and NRLM. Resource persons from the Horticulture and Marketing Department, including AMO Ramban, AGMO Batote, GMI and District Resource Person (DRP-PMFME) Mudassar Rashid, provided detailed information about the benefits, documentation process, and handholding support available under the PMFME scheme.

District Nodal Officer PMFME, Tehsin Iqbal Chib, while addressing the gathering, highlighted the transformative impact of the scheme, especially among women and unemployed youth, who have leveraged the scheme to become self-reliant entrepreneurs and job providers. He informed that 17 units have been established under PMFME in Ramban, generating employment for over 150 individuals.

He urged the participants to take full advantage of the scheme and become part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative launched by the Prime Minister of India. The workshop also covered key topics such as DPR preparation, FSSAI licensing, Udyam registration and bank loan facilitation.

AGMO Batote Raju Zutshi and other speakers briefed attendees on various technical and financial aspects of the scheme. The PMFME scheme, implemented by the J&K Agriculture Production Department, offers 35% subsidy, easy bank finance, support in documentation, DPR preparation, and comprehensive assistance including branding and marketing of products.

The workshop concluded with a call for all stakeholders to spread awareness and ensure maximum participation to harness the full potential of the PMFME scheme in strengthening the local economy.
