NYK Jammu, GCW Parade organise District Level Yuva Utsav in Bhargav Public School Samba

SAMBA, JUNE 10: Nehru Yuva Kendra Jammu, under MOYAS, in collaboration with Government College for Women Parade Ground today organised District level Yuva Utsav in the Auditorium of Bhargav Public School, Supwal Samba. The event was held under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Yuva Shakti se Jan Bhagedari was the driving force for this grand celebration of the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence.

The theme for the Yuva Utsav was the Panch Pran as given by the  PM across all events at all levels i.e. Goal of developing India, removing any trace of the colonial mindset, taking pride in our roots, unity and sense of duty among citizens. Five events viz. Painting, Poetry, Photography, Declamation and Cultural Group events were part of the District Level Yuva Utsav.

Over 200 participants from different Schools and colleges of district Samba   participated in this programme.

The Morning session of the District level Yuva Utsav was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Keshav Dutt Sharma, District Development Council Chairman Samba, by lighting Ceremonial lamp along with Guests of Honour Subash Bhagat, DDC Samba B,   G R Bhardwaj Dy, SP I/c, Hq Samba; Dr P. Krishan Dhar, Principal B. Ed College; Nisar Ahmed Butt, State Director, NYKS J&K; Subash Kumar, Principal BPS, Supwal.

At the outset, Dr Gurpreet Kour, NSS Programme officer welcomed the participants, Audience and briefed the themes of the programme announced by   the  Prime Minister from the ramparts of the Red Fort on 15th August 2022.

 She said that as part of collaborative efforts, wonderful programmes for the uplift and development of the youth of Samba have been executed.

 Nisar Ahmed Butt, State Director, NYKS, J&K highlighted the objectives and main components of the Programme: India @ 2047.

He said that different Schools and NGOs of District Samba are participating in the programme and wished good luck to all of them for their success in events. He further exhorted the youth to participate actively in the upcoming programme: Meri Matti Mera Desh and requested them to carry the spirit of the programme to every nook and corner of the district. He hoped that the youth would get registered on the portal: Merilife.org.

The Chief Guest, Keshav Dutt Sharma lauded the efforts of NYK Jammu for organising such a grand event. He welcomed the youth of Samba or coming forward to participate in such a programme and making the best use of this platform.

The Cultural team of Bhargav B. Ed college, Samba clinched the first prize while the Guidance and counselling cell (NGO) Gurhaslathia and Bhargava Public School Samba were adjudged 2nd and 3rd respectively.

 In the Declamation Contest, Aditi Chalotra was adjudged 1st while Arti Devi and Divya Thakur stood 2nd and 3rd respectively.

In the Painting competition, Poonam was the winner, while Hargun and Adarsh Bhau were runners-up.

In Poetry, Aniket Pangotra clinched the first prize while Divya Chib and Divya Verma were adjudged 2nd and 3rd. In Photography, Deepshikha emerged victorious while Shikha Bharti and Utejna Sambyal came 2nd and 3rd.

The valedictory session was presided over by Rakesh Dubey, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Samba in presence of Rajesh Sharma, Chairman, Bhargav Group of College Samba.

Addressing the Youth, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that such a programme must be organised to keep youth engaged so that their energy may be channelised and they may not fall victim to the menaces like drug abuse, violence etc. He appreciated the efforts of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan in engaging Youth in Nation building activities organising youth. He added that only well-aware and organised youth are the true assets of a nation. The mementoes and the certificates were also awarded among the adjudged participants by the Chief Guest.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Subash Kumar, Principal Bhargav Public School Supwal. The winners of the competitive events would now compete at the state level along with winners from all the districts of J&K and Ladakh UTs. The National event would be organised in New Delhi as part of the run-up to the Independence Day celebration.
