Nowshera Forest Division celebrates Earth Day

RAJOURI, April 22: To mark the celebration of Earth Day, the Nowshera Forest Division conducted plant distribution drive here at Sunderbani Forest Range. The drive was conducted under the guidance of Vivek Verma, Conservator of Forest (West Circle).

PRI members and members of civil society participated in the drive. The drive was jointly organised by block officers of the Sunderbani Forest Range.

Satyendra Maurya, Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera, briefed about Earth Day and its importance for showing support for environmental protection.

DFO Nowshera said that there is a need to persuade businesses, governments, and citizens around the world to invest in our planet to improve our environment. 

Rakesh Verma, Range Forest Officer, discussed in detail the significance of Earth Day and its theme for the year. He appealed to people to come forward to mitigate the challenges of climate change so that our posterity could live in an eco-friendly environment. 

The whole programme was conducted under the direct supervision of Dr. Mohit Gera, PCCF (HoFF), and B.M. Sharma, Additional PCCF Jammu.
