NC will ensure job & land rights of J&K residents: Rattan Lal

Says BJP utterly failed to fulfil promises, made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir on 5th August, 2019.

JAMMU, MAY 9:  Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Jammu today asserted that the Party will protect jobs and land rights of permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir if voted to power in the upcoming Assembly elections in the state.

In a statement issued to media here today, the senior NC leader said that presently there is huge resentment among people across Jammu and Kashmir against BJP for not fulfilling promises made with people after August 5, 2019.  He strongly opposed the new laws imposed in Jammu and Kashmir and anti-people and anti-youth decision taken by the government at the Centre since August 5, 2019.

He said not to talk of the fulfillment of the tall promises, the incumbent Govt has miserably failed even to safeguard the rights of permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir over the land and jobs in this Union Territory. He said that the non-locals have been allotted land and provided jobs in J&K thus usurping the rights of the natives which is intolerable.

Rattan Lal Gupta asserted that the failure of the government can be well gauged from the fact that the unemployment graph in the state keeps on pushing upward with each passing day as the Central Govt despite multiple promises made in this regard failed to bring job oriented policies for youth of Jammu and Kashmir. As if all this wasn’t enough that the Govt created congenial atmosphere for the Jammu and Kashmir to become a hub of recruitment scams thus plunging the future of the youth of J&K into darkness as a result of which the youth of J&K is engulfed in utter despair and pessimism. He said that these youth are today much vulnerable to get lured towards drugs and other anti-social activities. Since Govt has also miserably failed to eradicate drug menace therefore it is wholly and solely responsible for spoiling the future of the youth in J&K, he added.

The senior NC leader stated that the youth do not have the option of getting jobs in industries as promised by the Govt at the Centre as no major industry has been established in J&K post abrogation of Art 370. He asked the Central Government to establish units in J&K under the Central Govt Undertakings so that local youth of J&K will get jobs in their native region.

The Provincial President appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen the hands of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah in the upcoming elections and said that the Party will ensure that the rights and privileges of the people of Jammu and Kashmir will be safeguarded under the Constitution of India, if voted to power and also shall roll back anti people laws including property tax.
