National Youth Day celebrated with verve in Rajouri

RAJOURI, JANUARY 12: In commemoration of the Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda – The Icon and Ideal for the Youth of India, National Youth Day was celebrated across the Nation. In district Rajouri, the event was organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajouri under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports at Dak Bungalow Rajouri. Pawan Kumar Parihar, ADDC  was the Chief Guest of the event.

The ADDC, in his address, shed light on the teachings and preaching of Saint Swami Vivekananda Ji and the importance of National Youth Day. He said that Swami Vivekananda Ji wanted the  youth to contribute towards nation building , the way the government is striving for a  Viksit Bharat by 2047.

A series of Insightful Sessions including Expert Resource Sessions and Cultural Programs were held as part of this program. Hundreds of youth participants were enthralled by the cultural presentations during the event.

Every year, the National Youth Festival is also held from 12th to 16th of January in commemoration of the Birth Anniversary   of Swami Vivekananda. This year the National Program is being held in Nashik, Maharashtra which was also inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. His address was also screened virtually during the program.

DYO Nitin thanked the ADDC for gracing the event as Chief Guest. He also thanked Youth, other participants and the staff and Volunteers for their support in making the event successful. He also mentioned the Role of Swami Vivekananda in shaping the future of the nation through the youth.

Vikrant Sharma, Key Resource person, enlightened the gathering about the life, teachings and legacy of Swami Vivekananda. He said that Swamiji showed a path for millions of youth to follow.

Others present during the event were Sh Shakeel Khan Asst Warden Govt Pahari Hostel Rajouri, Gurnaam Kour Principal AGPS Rajouri, Rajesh Mehta President Rotary Club Grand Rajouri, Dr Zakir Malik Bhallesi, Lokesh Bakshi, Sardar Amardeep Singh, Rukhsana Kouser etc.

Winners and Participants of the Declamation Contest were also honoured during the event. Vanshika Sharma was the Winner while Saleem Talib, Srishti Vaid and Zahid Farooq were the runners up.
