Modi tarnished the dignity of the post of PM: Namrta Sharma

Demonetization ruined the household piggy banks of women not Congress

Jammu, April 23 : The state Congress has not only termed the statement given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Aligarh yesterday, targeting the Congress, pointing towards the Mangalsutra of women, completely irresponsible but has also termed it as a crude joke along with the dignity of the post of Prime Minister.

Party’s General Secretary and woman leader Namrta Sharma flanked by Senior leader Smt. Kanta Bhan, General Secretary PCC  Santosh Majotra, Secretary Jyoti Vaid, while reacting strongly to this statement of Modi ji, said that the kind of statements that are coming out from Modi ji’s mouth these days, it is clear that his party is going to lose its political ground in the ongoing parliamentary elections.

Talking to journalists at PCC HQ Shaheedi Chowk Jammu, she said that sometimes Modi ji says that after the elections, the leaders of the INDIA alliance will be bent upon tearing each other’s clothes and sometimes he(Modi) says that even the Mangalsutra of women will not be saved if Congress comes to power.

Sharma said that the possible defeat in these elections may spoil someone’s mental balance, but at least the Prime Minister should maintain the dignity of his post.

She said that Modi ji should tell that when he brought demonetization, how many women’s household savings, which they had actually saved with their hard-earned

money, were destroyed. Sharma claimed that in just a few days the BJP’s manifesto was prepared in which issues like unemployment, inflation and corruption were not found anywhere evenif Congress had promised to provide financial assistance of Rs. 8.5 thousand every month to women under the Mahalaxmi Yojana.

Sharma strongly condemned PM’s statement and said that Congress has included every appropriate promise in its manifesto for women, youth, farmers and workers whereas BJP has nothing else except doing cheap politics in the name of religion.

Pointing towards women, Sharma said that during his rule, the pension of Rs 1000-1500 that was given to the disabled, widows and the elderly was also stopped. On the other hand, Congress is bringing Rs 1 lakh annually for women and youth. In such a situation, if all the BJP leaders have nothing to say, then the Prime Minister himself is making every effort to mislead the public by making such baseless and irrational statements, which will definitely fail this time, she added.
