Mission YUVA: DC Srinagar presides orientation/ training programme (Training-II) for YUVA DOOTS
SRINAGAR, MAY 28: A day-long training-cum-orientation programme for YUVA DOOTs (Youth Ambassadors) under Mission Yuva initiative was held at the Kashmir Government Polytechnic College (KGPC), Gogjibagh, with the participation of YUVA doots who have been assigned the task of implementation of Project YUVA.
The programme was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat under the aegis of Mission YUVA, aiming to build a strong network of grassroots youth mobilizers for entrepreneurship development.
Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Srinagar, Rifat Aftab, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Deputy Director Employment, Dr. Sheeba Inayat, other concerned Officers and members of Small Business Development Units (SBDUs) and Business Help Desks (BHDs) Committees attended the training programme.
Addressing the Training programme, DC highlighted the importance of youth-led development and grassroots entrepreneurship. He emphasized the importance of youth-led initiatives in promoting self-reliance and economic sustainability at the grassroots level. He also encouraged Yuva Doots to act as catalysts of positive change within their communities.
While highlighting the importance of the programme, DC said that such trainings are pivotal to provide detailed insights into the operational structure of the programme, roles and responsibilities of YUVA doots and the support framework available at the district level.
He urged the YUVA doots on targeted mobilization, focusing on aspirants most likely to benefit from the initiative.
DC underlined that with a well-defined action plan and comprehensive training, YUVA doots are now equipped to begin their grassroots outreach activities, promoting entrepreneurship and youth-led development across district Srinagar under Mission YUVA initiative.
The training aimed to equip them with the knowledge, skills and tools required guiding aspiring entrepreneurs and spreading awareness about self-employment schemes under Mission YUVA.
Deputy Director Employment Srinagar, Dr. Sheeba Inayat presented an overview of Mission YUVA, its objectives, and the Institutional Business Support Mechanism, emphasizing the importance of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for result-oriented implementation.
The training programme also featured interactive sessions conducted by resource persons from J&K Bank and DE&CC Srinagar, which included live demonstrations of the Mission YUVA App/Portal. Key topics such as mobilization techniques, scheme eligibility, documentation processes, and reporting mechanisms were thoroughly covered.
