Mission Vatsalya Kupwara organizes capacity Building programme on JJ ACT 2015 at Magam Handwara

KUPWARA, MARCH 09: District child protection unit, Mission Vatsalya Kupwara today organized training cum capacity building programme on Juvenile Justice (care and protection) Act 2015, POCSO Act  2012, Adoption Regulations, and child rights at Higher Secondary School Magam Handwara. 

The Programme was organised under the supervision of DCPO Kupwara,  Hidaitullah Mir.

The Programme was attended by Chairperson Child welfare Committee, Kupwara, Abdul Rashid Malik, Members CWC, Member juvenile justice Board Kupwara, District Child Protection  Unit officials, ICDS workers, prosecution wing JJB Kupwara, Mohammad Shafi Mir Chairperson empowering widows, orphans and Disable people’s trust J&K Asha workers, Ex PRIs, JPU HANDWARA, officials from police station magam, Official DHEW, social welfare officials and local community members. 

  Shayista Muzaffar, Social Worker, DCPU Kupwara explained the importance of  programme and gave a detailed description of working mechanism regarding child welfare committee, DCPU and JJB at the district level and benefits under sponsorship scheme. 

Mohammad Rafiq Shah & Mudasir Qureshi Members CWC highlighted issues related to the rescue and rehabilitation process for various categories of vulnerabilities such as Child Labour, Children in street situation, Child begging, missing child and runaway child, adoption as per JJ Act 2015.

 Speaking on the occasion, Mohammad Shafi Mir appreciated the concerned officers, institutions, stakeholders for their concerted efforts in child care protection in the district.

 He emphasized the need for proper implementation of the Act in the district to ensure the protection of child rights.

 During the programme, various speakers  highlighted different issues related to child rights and crucial role and responsibilities of stakeholders in ensuring the effective implementation of these Acts and encouraged active participation. 

Gh Hassan JPU Handwara appreciated the department for taking good steps towards the betterment of children.

The certificates of participation were also distributed to acknowledge the active involvement of the participants in the programme.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mohammad Ishaq Dar, expressing gratitude to all the participants and organizers for their contribution and support.
