Martyr Amarjeet Sharma remembered on his first martyrdom day, glowing tributes paid
Hiranagar, 09 June 2025: The Civil Society paid rich tributes to Martyr Amarjeet Sharma on his first martyrdom anniversary in a commemorative event held at his native village Mela in Hiranagar.


Prominent among those who paid tributes on the occasion were Sat Sharma, President, J&K BJP, MLA Ramgarh Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA Vijaypur Chander Parkash Ganga, MLA Hiranagar Adv Vijay Kumar Sharma, District President Kathua Updesh Andotra, Kuldeep Raj, Prem Dogra, Raghunandan Singh Bablu, Gopal Mahajan, Devyani Rana, Rakesh Choudhary, Gian Pathania, Nidhi Sharma, Abhinandan Sharma, Karan Atri, Mukesh Padha, Som Sharma, Sethu, ex-servicemen, and other prominent civil society members gave rich tributes to the martyr on the occasion.
Family members of the martyr, including parents, brother Ram Gopal Sharma, wife Manju Devi, along with SDM Hira Nagar, Tehsildar, DySP, and other government officials were also present on the occasion.
Sat Sharma while paying rich tributes to the martyr lauded the supreme sacrifice of Amarjeet Sharma. He said that the nation is indebted to such martyrs whose bravery and dedication continue to inspire generations. “The place where Amarjeet Sharma achieved martyrdom has now been immortalized with the erection of a memorial to ensure his sacrifice remains etched in the hearts of the people,” said Sat Sharma and added that the martyr laid down life while fighting for the nation, society, and Dharma.
Sat Sharma asserted that Jammu & Kashmir has long suffered from the menace of terrorism, but under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has abandoned the earlier soft approach and adopted a firm and strategic stance. “The successful execution of ‘Operation Sindoor’ has sent a strong message to the enemies of peace that the perpetrators of terrorism will face decisive consequences,” he added.
Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal remembered the martyr as a dedicated professional who served humanity selflessly. “Amarjeet Sharma was a healing hand to the suffering, practicing a noble profession and aiding the ailing. His killing at the hands of terrorists is a barbaric act against humanity,” Dr. Manyal said. He strongly condemned the killing and emphasized that such inhuman acts would never succeed in shaking the resolve of the nation.
Chander Parkash Ganga paid heartfelt tributes and highlighted the significance of remembering such sacrifices to reinforce the nation’s collective conscience. “His memory will not fade. The people of this region and the nation will honour his sacrifice every year. No one will be allowed to disrupt peace in the region,” he stated.
Adv. Vijay Kumar Sharma shared that in honour of the martyr, a playground has been developed in the village bearing his name. Furthermore, a commemorative gate is planned to be constructed at the point where the road to Mela village begins from the National Highway.
