Machail Yatra pilgrimage witnesses record-breaking footfall as new facilities attract devotees

The annual Machail Yatra pilgrimage in Kishtwar has seen an unprecedented surge in the number of devotees flocking to the holy shrine, as newly installed facilities, including mobile towers, solar plants, toilets, and restrooms, have significantly enhanced the pilgrimage experience.

In just five days, the number of visiting devotees has crossed a staggering 9,000, marking a momentous milestone in the sacred journey.

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh in a tweet expressed his delight at the overwhelming response of pilgrim numbers to the enhanced facilities at Machail Yatra.

The revered Machail Mata temple, nestled amidst the scenic beauty of the Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir, has long been a focal point of spirituality and faith for devotees from across the country.

However, the lack of essential amenities has been a persistent concern in previous years, limiting the number of pilgrims who could undertake the journey comfortably.

However, with the recent efforts of the government and local authorities to improve the infrastructure around the pilgrimage route, the pilgrimage has become far more accessible and enjoyable for the throngs of pilgrims undertaking the arduous journey.

The installation of mobile towers has transformed the communication landscape around the region, providing devotees with improved connectivity during their spiritual sojourn. Pilgrims can now stay in touch with their families, share their experiences, and seek any assistance if required. Additionally, the enhanced mobile network has contributed to better coordination and safety management during the pilgrimage.
