Kishtwar: ACR leads joint market checking to enforce prescribed rates quality of food stuff in holy month Ramadan 

KISHTWAR, MARCH 11: In view of the forthcoming holy month of Ramadan, the District Administration Kishtwar undertook a intensive market inspection in various locations in the   Kishtwar town.

Led by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Idrees Lone, the joint inspection team comprising officers from diverse departments, including Dy. SP Hqr, Dr Ishan Gupta, NT Kishtwar and representatives from Revenue, FCS&CA, Legal Metrology, Food Safety, Municipal Council, and other  authorities inspected quality and rates of essential commodities.

The comprehensive inspection targeted establishments such as vegetable and dairy shops, chicken and mutton vendors, sweet and other edible stores from Dak Banglow Kishtwar to Main Bus Stand with a focus on maintaining quality standards and enforcing price controls for the benefit of consumers during the holy month of Ramadan.

During the inspection, fines were recovered from the shopkeepers found violating legal regulations, and selling  poor quality vegetables and spices, which  were were promptly destroyed. The team also confiscated a significant amount of polythene from some vendors while scrutinizing various other essential commodities.

The drive was aimed to enforce a fair and quality-driven market environment and curb overcharging as the community prepares for the auspicious month of Ramadan.
