Kathua Campus, University of Jammu celebrates maiden Holi Festival

KATHUA, March 3: Festival of colours was celebrated at Kathua Campus, University of Jammu with many enthusiastic and refreshing spirits. On the occasion Rector, Kathua Campus, faculty members, staff and students got together with festive energy and wished for happiness and prosperous days for all. With the string of music, games and dance, the day was celebrated on a high note.

Dr.Meenakshi Kilam, Rector, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu earnestly wished for the best days ahead for all and encouraged everyone to actively participate in the festival celebrations to keep the traditions and culture alive.

She further said Holi celebrations at Kathua Campus begin with Rang Ekadashi and further, she highlighted the significance of today’s Amla Ekadashi – a day to render tributes to God as well as amla tree for the boons it bestows on us. She further said paying homage to the amla tree is symbolic and by celebrating this day we also pay tribute to all the trees and nature which is very much required for environment conservation in order to preserve the natural world.

 Dr. Sourabh Shastri, Incharge Head (Computer Science), Kathua Campus, University of Jammu coordinated the whole programme and said that all students felt a sense of togetherness and goodwill after celebrating the Holi festival.

Ms. Ritika Goyal, Mr. Pranav Ratta, Ms. Avni Sharma, Ms. TiharikaNath, Dr. Seema Jamwal, Er. Amarjeet Chopra, Dr.Shivani Sharma, Dr. Ruby Mahajan, Ms. Reetika Gupta, Er. Archana Salaria, Er. HimaniKhajuria, Ms. Ritu Sharma, Ms. Shivani Sharma were also present.
