JKPCC observes National Pollution Control Day-2023

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 02:  In compliance with the directions issued by Regional Director Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Committee (JKPCC) Kashmir, Rafi Ahmad Bhat, National Pollution Control Day was today observed in all the district offices of PCC Kashmir.

Meanwhile, a mega event was observed in the Conference hall of JKPCC Srinagar in the memory of those who lost their lives in the  Bhopal Gas Tragedy- the biggest Industrial disaster due to poisonous gas, methy isocyanate in the Air.

On the occasion, Regional Director JKPCC emphasized the importance of this day in his introductory address. He  apprised  the role of PCC for long term strategies, prolonged approach to enforce environmental regulations on ground to control emissions from industries and other sources. 

He advised the brick kiln and stone crusher owner to adopt eco friendly technology  to  attain sustainable  development. 

Regional Director Social Forestry, chief guest shared his views on the occasion and stressed that every citizen need to play the role and contribute to make the environment neat and clean. It is need of the day to stop blind use of technology.   

Shabir Ahmad i/c Water Lab explained the requisite information regarding the conditions of water bodies in Kashmir region and the factors responsible for it. 

During the event, the documentary regarding Bhopal Gas Tragedy was screened and 2 minutes silence was observed by all the participants. 

Dy Director information who was the guest of honor shared his views on the occasion and stressed that it is moral duty of every citizen to keep environment neat and clean.
