JKEDI commences week-long Management Development Programs in 04 districts; 84 entrepreneurs, MSMEs enrolled
JAMMU, JUNE 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) on Wednesday commenced Management Development Programs (MDP) in 04 Districts of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme. The initiative is funded by the Union Ministry of MSME and is being implemented in the Union Territory by the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Management Development Programmes (MDPs) were inaugurated in district Jammu, Doda, Ramban and Kulgam. A total of 84 candidates including 70 women have been registered for the MDP, who shall undergo a 30-hour training over six days.
The MDPs coordinated by JKEDI District Centres has participation from the local MSMEs, who will be provided with the real time know-how of running and managing the businesses. The programme will help the MSMEs of the area to enhance their skills and interact with the experts from different line departments.
The program aims to strengthen managerial, financial and strategic skills of entrepreneurs and small business owners, empowering them to scale up operations, enhance competitiveness and create sustainable enterprises. This flagship initiative is being implemented in alignment with the broader objectives of the Government of India’s RAMP program to bolster the MSME ecosystem.
The MDP curriculum has been meticulously designed by subject matter experts and includes modules on business planning, marketing strategies, digital tools, financial literacy, compliance, innovation and leadership. The program also includes mentorship sessions, case studies and hands-on workshops to provide real-world insights.
Over the next six days, local entrepreneurs, MSME operators and aspiring business leaders will engage with industry professionals, JKEDI faculty and certified trainers in an interactive learning environment. The simultaneous launch of MDP’s ensures equitable access to resources and training opportunities, particularly in remote and underdeveloped areas. The MDPs under RAMP initiative in the remaining five districts of Jammu and Kashmir shall begin shortly on June 30, 2025. This initiative is expected to benefit the entrepreneurs directly, while creating a ripple effect of enhanced business practices and job creation across the UT.
