J&K Opposition parties welcome Karnataka results, seek early elections

Jammu, May 15:  Different mainstream opposition parties under the aegis of All parties United Morcha (APUM)  have welcomed the outcome of elections in  Karnataka, where the  people have given the verdict of change and rejected the diversionary tactics of the ruling BJP and demanded early assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a  meeting by the representatives of mainstream opposition parties under the banner of APUM  congratulated the congress leadership for the landslide victory.

Senior leaders of main opposition parties in J&K have said that people of Karnatka have given a verdict of change in the country and a way forward for  the forthcoming general elections. The people have voted for the positive agenda of development welfare and employment against price rise and corruption and rejected the vote bank politics of ruling BJP.

 The meeting unanimously urged the Congress leadership at the Centre and  UPA Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi to invite the opposition parties for putting pressure on the Centre Govt. to hold early assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir which has been deprived of democratic Govt. for last five years and the full-fledged state has been down graded.

The meeting felt that BJP is  J&K Opposition parties welcome Karnataka results , seek early elections delaying assembly elections in the JKUT because the party sees the writings on the wall, as BJP will face a humiliating defeat in J&K in assembly elections as and when held. The people are totally fed up with the policies and programmes of BJP and has left the people at the mercy of irresponsible and non-responsive bureaucratic regime with the resources of J&K opened for the loot of outsiders while locals are without jobs and business prospects. The unemployment is on the peak in   J&K. The people are being heavily taxed while the price rise is on the peak.

The people of J&K want early elections to the state assembly under statehood, for which the opposition parties shall unitedly fight and struggle for restoration of democracy. They appealed all other opposition political parties in the country and J&K, who are opposed the policies and opportunist politics of BJP to unite to fight for the rights of the people of J&K.

The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Abdul Rehman (Ex-MP) and attended by Ravinder Sharma ( Chief Spokesperson JKPCC), Rattan Lal Gupta ( Provincial  President – NC) , Manish Sawhney – President Shiv Sena Udhav Bal Thakrey (JKUBT)   Sr. IDP leader I.D. Sweets were distributed on the occasion to celebrate the victory. The APUM congratulated the Congress leadership for the landslide victory and effectively countering and defeating the opportunist agenda of BJP, starting from Bharat Jodo Yatra, till culmination of elections. The BJP attempt to polarize the atmosphere and hijack the elections, were defeated by the people of Karnataka, who have shown the way forward to the countrymen for the forth coming general elections.
