J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Hosts “Meet the Author” Programme Featuring Hindi Writer Dr. Chanchal Dogra
Jammu, May 26: The J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organized an insightful literary programme titled “Meet the Author” to honour the celebrated Hindi writer Dr. Chanchal Dogra (Sharma), recognizing her immense contributions to Hindi literature.


Harvinder Kour, Secretary, JKAACL, extended a warm welcome to the guests and participants. In her address, she elaborated that the main objective of this series is to document the lives and works of poets, writers, and artists of Jammu & Kashmir. She praised Dr. Chanchal Dogra’s literary achievements, stating that her work consistently highlights the voices of women, social challenges, and cultural values.
She also felicitated Dr. Dogra with a shawl, memento, and flower vase, in the gracious presence of Sonali Arun Gupta, Additional Secretary, JKAACL; Dr. Javaid Rahi, Divisional Head Jammu; and senior literary figures Prof. P.N. Trisal, Dr. R.L. Shant, and Dr. A.S. Amn, former Additional Secretary, JKAACL.
The programme featured a thoughtful and comprehensive paper presentation by Dr. Adarsh Prakash, who reflected on the literary journey, themes, and stylistic depth of Dr. Chanchal Dogra’s writing.
Dr. Chanchal Dogra, a renowned writer, editor, and academician, is known for her significant contributions to Hindi literature through poetry, essays, and short stories. Her works often reflect deep social consciousness and psychological insights, especially related to women’s experiences.
During the session titled “Main Aur Meri Sahityik Yatra”, Dr. Dogra shared her personal and literary journey, spanning over five decades. She spoke about her evolution as a writer, the challenges she encountered as a woman in the literary world, and her commitment to creating literature that embodies truth, resilience, and the human spirit.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks presented by Dr. Javaid Rahi, who commended Dr. Dogra’s literary contributions and thanked the audience for their enthusiastic participation.
The event was ably conducted by Dr. Chanchal Sharma, Editor Hindi, JKAACL, who efficiently steered the proceedings of the programme.
