Institutional Innovation Council organizes lecture on innovation and entrepreneurship in School of Sciences

Institutional Innovation Council (IIC) of Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ) has organized an invited lecture on innovation and entrepreneurship in School of Sciences, which aimed at nurturing a culture of innovation, start-ups, and entrepreneurship within the university ecosystem. The session was graced by expert Mr. Arshad Noomani (JKAS), Functional Manager at Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Jammu, Dr. Chander Shekhar, Dean Sciences & President (IIC). 

The IIC, an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, is dedicated to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students in Higher Education Institutions. With a mission to promote a culture of innovation in the academic institutions, the IIC encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing among educational institutions, industries, and other stakeholders.

The event started with a warm welcome speech by Dr. Chandra Shekhar, President of IIC and motivated the students to give their ideas and avail the maximum benefit out of the schemes launched by the Government of India for making their career out of these schemes instead of running after Govt. Jobs. He also inspires students to be a job giver instead of job seeker. 

The event continued with an insightful presentation by Mr. Arshad Noomani (JKAS), an expert in the field, under the theme “Fostering Industrial Ecosystem in J&K.” He highlighted key aspects of the New Central Sector Scheme 2021 and the J&K Industrial Policy 2021, focusing on the growth of dynamic and thriving industrial units. Mr. Noomani also delved into the various incentives and policy support provided by the Government of J&K to promote start-ups. The session included an engaging interaction with students, where he encouraged them to draw motivation from the government’s schemes and pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations.

The program was attended by IIC members Dr. Banarsi Lal, Dr. Avtar Changotra, Dr. Biplab K. Maiti, and Dr. Satyapal Singh Rathore, along with contractual faculty and students from various constituent colleges and the School of Cluster University of Jammu.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Tsering Landol, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics expressing gratitude to the invited speaker and participant for their invaluable contributions to the enriching discourse on innovation and entrepreneurship.
