Handicrafts- Handloom Department organizes Trainees’ Orientation Program at village Bagana- Kishtwar
KISHTWAR, MAY 22: The Department of Handicrafts and Handloom Kishtwar organized a Trainee Orientation Program today at Bagana, a project-affected site of the Kawar Hydro Electric Power Project (HEPP).

At the outset. Assistant Director Handicrafts and Handloom Pardeep Shan briefed the trainees about the establishment of a Cutting and Tailoring Training Center at Bagana under the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) plan.
To facilitate participation, the department provided doorstep delivery of application forms, eliminating the need for the women to visit the DC office.
The department’s efforts aim to cover more trainees under the Skill Development Plan (R&R) of HEPP, empowering women and dependent family members through training in home-based livelihood and micro-entrepreneurial skills, enabling local income generation, developing new and innovative designs, expanding the product range, and enhancing market competitiveness.
The program was attended by AHTO Handicrafts Pinak Sen; Wheat Straw Craft Instructor Omkar Chand; Supervisors, INDUSCO Abid and Arif and the Carpet Center Incharge.
