Govt Polytechnic organizes workshop on ‘Electric Vehicle’
College Newsletter released, placement letters distributed among students
JAMMU, May 30: The two day workshop on ‘Electric Vehicle’ held at Government Polytechnic Jammu concluded here today with Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, chairing the valedictory ceremony.
Dr. Samoon was accompanied by Director Skill Development Department, Sudershan Kumar and Mission Director, Skill Development, Leena Padha.
Principal Government Polytechnic Jammu, Engineer Arun Bangotra briefed the dignitaries about the event insights. He highlighted various activities being conducted in Government Polytechnic Jammu and Center for Invention, Innovation, Incubation and Training (CIIIT Jammu) that together are taking the department to new heights.
On the occasion, Dr. Samoon along with other dignitaries distributed workshop participation certificates held at CIIIT, Government Polytechnic Jammu in collaboration with School of Mechanical Engineering SMVD University, Katra in which faculty, staff and students of various institutes like DAV Jalandhar, HKM Haryana, SMVD University Katra, YCET Jammu and Government Polytechnic Jammu participated.
The workshop was organized to provide an insight to the participants about the working of Electric Vehicles, Design of Motors and Batteries and application of Power Electronics in electric vehicles.
Dr. Samoon also inaugurated the new CIIIT Jammu website which will provide details about various futuristic courses, contents, eligibility, fee structure and job opportunities in the 18 courses being offered at CIIIT Jammu.
Later, Dr. Samoon also released two books being authored by the faculty of Government Polytechnic Jammu. The books titled “Applied Mechanics” and ‘PLC and Microcontroller’ have been authored by Engineer Arun Bangotra, Principal Government Polytechnic Jammu and Engineer PK Angral, Lecturer Electrical Engineering Department, Engineer, Ashok Verma besides Lecturer Instrumentation & Control Department respectively.
Dr Samoon also distributed the certificates among meritorious students who had undergone three months courses at CIIIT Jammu. He also offered job placement letters to the students in the recently concluded One week-long campus placement drive in which 09 companies participated, and selected around 33 students for various departments.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon lauded the efforts of Principal Government Polytechnic Jammu and his team for achieving such a milestone in terms of imparting quality education, providing industry oriented short term courses, exposing the students to various aspects of industry 4.0. Director Skill Development Department, Sudershan Kumar briefed about various aspects of Skill Development Department and latest updates in terms of Skill add-on courses in various ITI’s and Polytechnic’s along with 03 years diploma courses.
