Government Polytechnic Jammu organises Yoga Camp

JAMMU, JUNE 09: Government Polytechnic College Jammu, in collaboration with the Department of Ayush Jammu and Kashmir, organized an iconic Yoga Camp in the institution, here today.

The camp was organized under the guidance of Principal Er Arun Bangotra Government Polytechnic College Jammu and under the supervision of Director J&K Ayush Dr Mohan Singh & DAO Dr Vandana Dogra. A large number of students of Government Polytechnic College Jammu participated in the camp.

The event was organized to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga among students. The students performed key asanas and taught each other different methods of meditation. They were also given pamphlets to make them aware of the mindful and therapeutic aspects of yoga.

 Speaking on the occasion, Er Arun Bangotra highlighted the benefits of Yoga and appreciated the efforts of the team members of Ayush Department for the successful event. He stressed on the need for coordination between the educators and youth to make Yoga a part of their life. He also shared that the people have widely accepted the effectiveness of Yoga as a form of therapy. He further stressed on making physical activity and yoga part of day-to-day life.

The program was led by Dr. Shefli Bakshi (Medical officer), Dr. Bipan Chander (Medical Officer) Dr. Sunil Koul (Medical Officer), Jagandeep Singh (Yoga Instructor), Sheetal Khajuria (Yoga Instructor), Jyoti Bali (Yoga Instructor), Ishan Mansotra (Yoga Instructor).

Dr. Himani Bhutyal conducted the yoga session as per protocol and yoga instructors demonstrated various Yoga asanas and Pranayamas.
