Good Governance Week: One day promotional workshop for PM-FME scheme held at Achabal

ANANTNAG, DECEMBER 22: The Department of Fisheries Anantnag under the chairmanship of District Nodal Officer Anantnag PM-FME (ODOP) scheme today organized a daylong awareness programme on centrally sponsored scheme PM-Formalization of Micro food Processing Entrepreneur (PMFME),  at  Trout Fish Farm Achabal.

The programme was held in connection with the Good Governance Week being held across the country and was attended by Grading Processing and Marketing Officer Horticulture Department, Groups of NRLM, Area Marketing Officer, Horticulture Development Officer, representatives of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep, DIC, Achabal Bank and a huge gathering of shopkeepers and locals of the area.

At the outset, the District Nodal Officer PM-FME (ODOP) scheme presented the overall scenario and prospects of the Micro Food Processing sector in the UT. He urged the youth to set up their individual Micro Enterprises and avail the benefit of credit linked subsidy available under the scheme. He requested the participants to get registered in the application submission process or visit the PM-FME Home Page.

He  further requested the  interested youth to contact the District Resource Person for getting assistance in the application submission process, support in DPR preparation, getting a bank loan etc.

The Grading Processing and Marketing Officer of the Horticulture Department also addressed the gathering and urged them to set up their own Employment Generating Units under the scheme. The Area Marketing Officer and Horticulture Development Officer also deliberated upon the various schemes for which they can get support under the PM-FME scheme.

The representatives of various banks of Block Achabal also addressed the participants.

The Officers present in the camp laid  emphasis on Fish Processing, Bakery products, Canning of any food product, pickle making, vegetable and fruit processing etc.
