GDC Ramgarh launches Admission, NEP 2020 awareness drive for session 2025–26
SAMBA, MAY 22: The Government Degree College Ramgarh has launched a comprehensive Admission and NEP 2020 Awareness Drive for the academic session 2025–26 here under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol. The initiative is aimed at informing and guiding students, especially those who have recently completed their 12th grade, about the new academic framework under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the various course options available to them.
As part of this drive, the college faculty, including Dr. Snobar, Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Ashok Kumar and Prof. Brham Dutt, conducted extensive outreach programs at several Higher Secondary Schools including GHSS Ramgarh, GHSS Nandpur, GHSS Gho Brahmana, Ajanta HSS Gho, MIER HSS Koulpur, GHSS Vijaypur, Minerva HSS Ramgarh and The Path Seeker HSS Ramgarh.
During these visits, they interacted with students, discussed the importance of making conscious academic choices, and conducted counseling sessions to help students understand the benefits of NEP-aligned education. The initiative received overwhelming support from school principals and teaching staff, who played a significant role in ensuring the success of the campaign. Informative pamphlets highlighting the college’s academic offerings and NEP 2020 updates were distributed among the students.
The Government Degree College Ramgarh is currently accepting admissions for the 2025–26 session under the NEP-aligned Humanities stream. Major subjects offered are Education, Hindi, Political Science, and Sociology, along with additional options such as Computer Application, Economics, English, Environmental Science (E.V.S), Dogri, Punjabi and Statistics.
The college offers modern facilities to ensure a well rounded educational experience including smart and air-conditioned classrooms, a computer lab, library, sports infrastructure, browsing center, NSS, gym, Wi-Fi, CCTV surveillance, and transport services. Honours courses are available in the fourth year, and the college also facilitates lateral entry for eligible polytechnic students directly into the second year (third semester) of study.
