GDC Ramgarh hosts Poster Making Competition on Mental Healthcare

SAMBA, MAY 20: Government Degree College Ramgarh organized a Poster Making Competition on the theme “Mental Healthcare Act, 2017” today under the purview of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). The event was held under the guidance of the Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol.


The competition was meticulously organized by Priya Sharma, who played a key role in coordinating the event and encouraging student participation.


The objective of the competition was to raise awareness about mental health rights and to sensitize students on the significance of the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017, which ensures the protection and dignity of individuals with mental illness.


Students from different semesters took part in the event with great enthusiasm, showcasing their understanding through creative and impactful posters. Ashu Verma secured the first prize, while Chetna Sanotra and Amandeep Kaur won the second and third prizes respectively.


The event was judged by Prof. Sandeep Kumari and Dr. Shivali Panjgotra, who praised the participants for their originality, clarity of message and artistic skills.

Faculty members including Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Dr. Snobar, Ashok Kumar, Dr. Neeraj Bargotra, Anjali Devi and Sayma were also present and supported the smooth conduct of the event.
