GDC Mahanpur observes closing ceremony of one weck long NSS winter camp

Mahanpur, December 31: Today on 31* of December, 2022. NSS unit of GDC, Mahanpur observed closing ceremony of one week long NSS winter camp which was started on 24″ of December During week long camp, various activities were conducted by the NSS volunteers.

On 26° of December, NSS unit in collaboration with Department of Environmental Sciences organised a campus beautification drive. NSS volunteers did pruning and white wash treatment for the maintenance of trees. Prof. Arvind Kumar, HOD, Environmental Sciences delivered a lecture to the students on “how to maintain health of tress”. Dr. Ajay Singh Manhas, HOD. Department of Economics delivered an awareness lecture on “Cyber Fraud and Cyber Security” on 27 of December 2022. Around 100 students participated in the lecture. After the lecture, an interactive session was held among the studentsOn 28* December.

NSS Unit in collaboration with Health Centre, Mahanpur, conducted awareness programme about emergency services available in the health centre. The resource person from the health centre give a detailed lecture on how to call the ambulance services during emergency. Moreover, he also demonstrated the facilities available in the intensive care ambulance like respiratory ventilator. Vitals checking instruments, infusion pump. Medical stretcher etc to Students.

On 30 of December. Dr. Balbinder Singh, Convener. Road Safety Club conducted road saftty sensitisation programme among the students. He elaborated various safety measures to be followed while driving specially during winter season to avoid accidents.

On the last day of the camp ie 31″ December, a cultural program was organised by the NSS Volunteers under the guidance of program officer, Prof. Meena Devi. Varun Proach from semester Ist and Taru Upadhaya from semester fifth hosted the programme. The students presented various cultural items. Neema Devi and Sunil Kumar of Ist semester presented melodious Hindi songs, Rekha Ran from S” semester gave a dance performance. A group dance was performed by students of 1st and third semesters.

Principal of the college, Dr. Sangeeta Sudan congratulated the NSS programme officer and NSS volunteers for successfully completing the week long NSS winter camp. She also appreciated the efforts of the organising team for conducting various activities during this camp.
