GDC Bhaderwah celebrates Yoga Day

BHADERWAH, June 22:  Under the guidance of the College Principal, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Sharma and the supervision of Lt. Prithvi Raj, Associate NCC Officer, NCC unit of Government Degree College Bhaderwah, in collaboration with the Physical Education and Sports Department, organized a vibrant program to celebrate International Yoga Day here on the college campus. The event was organised under the aegis of “Amrit kal-Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”, with the theme “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”.

More than 100 students, NCC cadets and NSS volunteers participated in a one-hour yoga session held early in the morning. The event saw the active participation of both teaching and non-teaching staff members of the college.

Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, Principal of the College, congratulated the NCC unit and the Physical Education & Sports Department for organizing the yoga session. He emphasized the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life for better health and peace of mind, encouraging all participants to do so.

Prof. Qasim, HOD of Geography, enlightened the attendees about the significance of June 21 based on geographical facts.

Lt. Prithviraj motivated the cadets and students to engage in yoga on a daily basis and invited them to participate in a month-long virtual yoga competition.

The yoga session was skillfully conducted by Ex SUO Saloon and JUO Neha Kotwal.
