Free Medical Camp, awareness on NALSA Helpline 15100 held at Ahata-e-Waqar, Chanapora
SRINAGAR, MAY 15: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, conducted a Medical Camp and awareness programme on NALSA Helpline 15100 at Ahata-e-Waqar, Chanapora.
The programme was held under the chairmanship of Tasleem Arief, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Srinagar and under the supervision of Sajad Ur Rehman, Sub-Judge/Secretary, DLSA Srinagar.
In his welcome address, Chairman of the Senior Citizens Council, Abdul Ganie Parray emphasized the significance of such initiatives in addressing the healthcare needs of the elderly besides raising awareness about their legal rights and entitlements.
He encouraged the senior citizens to actively participate in the programme and take full advantage of the services being offered, highlighting that their well-being and dignity must remain a collective responsibility of the society.
Several speakers addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of taking care of the physical and emotional well-being of elderly citizens.
A key part of the programme was the free medical camp, where elderly participants received general health check-ups, physiotherapy services, and support for common age-related issues. Vay Vandana Health Cards were also distributed to help the elderly get continued access to healthcare services.
Sajad Ur Rehman, Sub-Judge/Secretary interacted with the senior citizens and informed them about the NALSA Helpline 15100. He explained how this toll-free helpline can help people in need of free legal aid across the country.
The event was a thoughtful step towards supporting the health and legal awareness of senior citizens in the community.
