Fourth day of 07-Day Poetry Festival at JKAACL Jammu dedicated to Dogri Language in connection with Dogri Manta Diwas

JAMMU, December 24: The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL) has successfully organised a day dedicated to the Dogri language during the 07-Day Poetry Festival at JKAACL premises in Jammu in connection with Dogri Manta Diwas. The Poetry Festival intends to accommodate more than 250 poets of seven different languages: Urdu, Hindi, Kashmiri, Dogri, Punjabi, Gojri, and Pahari — with a day dedicated to every single language.

Sh. Ashok Singh, Director Finance, J&K was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The event was presided over by Padamshree Dr. Jitender Udhampuri, an acclaimed literary personality of the region. Sh. Jang Bahadur, Special Secretary, GAD was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.

Sh. Bharat Singh (JKAS), Secretary JKAACL, gave a heartfelt welcome to everyone. While addressing the audience, he extolled the contribution of the Dogri language to society; he further affirmed that JKAACL shall continue to work towards endeavours aimed at the promotion of regional culture.

In his presidential address Ashok Singh, Director Finance, congratulated and applauded the initiative of Sh. Bharat Singh, Secretary (JKAACL), and congratulated the efforts of JKAACL for taking up such endeavours for the promotion of the Dogri Language.

Reeta Khadyal, Assistant Editor (Dogri) at JKAACL, conducted the proceedings on the day of the Poetry Festival. Dr. Shahnawaz, Editor Cum Cultural Officer, Gojri  expressed a vote of thanks to the august gathering for their valuable presence at the event.

On Monday, 26th  December 2022, the JKAACL is dedicating the Fifth day of the Poetry festival to the Punjabi Language.

The audience enthusiastically relished the grandeur of the literary expression. The Cultural Academy’s effort in promoting cultural sensitivities is receiving laud from the art and culture connoisseurs of the region.
