Extensive cleanliness Drive under “Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign” held in Kupwara

DC Kupwara participates in Swachhta events at BHSS Stadium, Regipora Taxi stand and D.C Office premises.

KUPWARA, OCTOBER 1: Under the banner of “Swachhta Hi Seva and Shramdaan for Swachhata” colourful events and extensive cleanliness drives were organized by Government Departments, Colleges, Schools, Municipal Bodies and Panchayats across the Kupwara district.

During one hour campaign under the slogan, Ek Tareek, Ek Ghanta, Ek sath Cleanliness Drives and Swachhta Pledges were carried out by all sections of the society.

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara,  Ayushi Sudan took part in several Swachhta events held at BHSS Ground Kupwara, Taxi Stand Regipora and D.C Office Kupwara.

Speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that cleanliness should be incorporated as a regular practice in the lifestyle by everybody. She appealed to all the stakeholders’ especially the general public, to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in their surroundings to achieve the goal of Swachh Bharat.

She urged that cleanliness is not confined to physical spaces alone; it also extends to our habits and mindset. It is not merely a matter of appearance; it has a profound impact on our health, environment, and overall well-being.

Vice Chairman DDC in his address said that Swachhta Hi Seva is a good initiative of the Government which needs to be implemented in letter and spirit. He urged upon the people of the district to cooperate in making Kupwara a clean and green district. 

Chairman MC also spoke and highlighted the importance of the event. 

At BHSS Kupwara, the Deputy Commissioner along with Vice Chairman, DDC, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir; Chairman MC Kupwara, Reyaz Ahmad Mir, President Traders Federation Kupwara, Showkat Ahmad Masoodi, besides, District/Sectoral Officers and Officials from various departments took part in the cleanliness drive.

The Deputy Commissioner also administered Swachhta Pledge, Non-Violence Pledge and Nasha Mukt Pledge to the participants on the occasion.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner participated in Swachhta activities held at Taxi Stand Regipora and D.C Office Kupwara.

Meanwhile, Swatchhta events were held in all Government Offices, Colleges, Schools and Panchayats, municipal areas, Market places, and places of worship in Kupwara district.
