Expert Lectures, screening of promotional fils on Central Schemes, Quiz competitions mark Day 2

RAJOURI, December 21: The Day-2 of Multimedia Exhibition on ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ organized by Central Bureau of Communication, Rajouri (J&K) Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India, here at Govt. PG College,  witnessed a series of activities including open quiz, film shows, cultural programs and expert lectures.

The College Principal Javed Mughal, attended the function as Chief guest, and   Ghulam Abbas, Joint Director, CBC, J&K, Ladakh presided over the function along with the faculty of PG College.

The Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of the Central Bureau of Communication, J&K for organizing the event at PG College. He said that CBC’s ICOP initiatives are the best tool to achieve the target of developed India till 2047 and the period has been termed Amrit Kaal by the Prime Minister. The valuable information disseminated through displays and Expert Lectures will help students to think about availing the benefits of various centrally sponsored schemes and becoming entrepreneurs. He highlighted the role of teachers in students’ life, Unity in diversity, and role of responsible and aware citizens.

Ghulam Abbas, Joint Direct, CBC, J&K and Ladakh, in his address said that the Government of India has various schemes for an individual which he can avail right from pre-natal stage to death. He expressed gratitude towards district Administration and College Authorities for their cooperation and support. He advised the students to avail benefits of Govt. schemes and earn besides studies to become Atma Nirbhar (self reliant). He urged the students to spread the word about the event among common masses to visit the venue as the Exhibition will remain open from 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily (Free of Cost).

Sunaina Mir, Teacher Education Department Rajouri gave an expert lecture on AKAM and filled the audience with the feeling of Patriotism.  Mohd. Azgar Agriculture officer gave a detailed lecture on various schemes related to Agriculture viz Soil Health Card, Kissan Credit Card, Fasal Bima Yojna, Kissan Pension Yojna, PM Kissan etc. He also encouraged the audience to adopt mushroom cultivation, poultry, organic farming etc.

The Exhibition showcased India’s struggle for freedom through display panels. Major events of freedom struggle include, the Revolt of 1857, Non- the Cooperation Movement, the Establishment of Home rule, Champaran Satyagraha, Kheda Satyagraha, Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, the Khilafat Movement, the Chauri-Chaura Incident, Dandi March or Namak Satyagraha, Azad Hind fauj, Quit India Movement, the partition of India. A special facet was also put up to highlight the contribution of freedom fighters belonging to J&K and Ladakh.

Selfie corner, Seminars (Expert Lectures on Centrally Sponsored Schemes), open quiz, film shows, cultural programs, and the ‘New India Samachar’ Magazine of Govt of India were the main attraction for the youth. Vijay Mattoo, I/c CBC, Poonch conducted the programme and   Sunil Kumar, I/c CBC, Rajouri conducted an open quiz on AKAM Mahotsav to engage the audience, films shows, cultural programmes etc. were the attractions for the youth. Winners of the open quiz were honoured on the spot.
