Escape the Chaos: How Businessman-Turned-Photographer Ratnadwip Saha uses Photography to Tell Stories

Ratnadwip Saha, a businessman from Tripura, North East India has a passion for
photography that will leave one mesmerized. Ever so often, he searches out a beautiful sight to frame through his camera’s eye viewer. For a few moments, his index finger hovers over the shutter release button before he pushes it down. With a soft click, the scene is captured for posterity and shared with an eager audience which showers it with likes, comments and shares.

But where does Saha find inspiration for his breathtaking shots? “It’s everywhere,” he
says with a smile, “interesting faces, moody nature, and rain, fog and mist – they all inspire me.” Even his seniors, juniors, and family members serve as sources of inspiration.

Despite juggling the demands of managing a family business for the last 10-12 years, Saha makes time on weekends to pursue his true passion. “For me, photography is a way to escape the chaos of the real world and tell stories,” Saha shares. And what stories they are! Saha is drawn to capturing the beauty of native people, human faces, nature, and streets through his lens. He believes in keeping it simple and letting the picture do the talking.

Saha is self-taught. He sharpened his skills through watching YouTube and Nikon school videos, attending workshops, and experimenting with different cameras. He started with one camera, then bought a film camera, then a compact digital, and finally a DSLR in 2015. Saha believes that perspective is key in photography and that techniques are secondary. He likes to capture most of his photos using his DSLR and edit them using the masking method to separate the main subject from the background.

But for Saha, the best part of photography is the connection he feels with the subject of the photograph. He urges budding photographers to focus on improving themselves rather than seeking likes and comments on social media. “I’ve faced many challenges, such as difficulty carrying a camera while trekking and my camera falling into a river,” he shares. “But I believe that social media has helped me reach a global audience and earn money.” Saha also encourages people to respect artists and photographers, sharing a personal experience when he clicked a picture of an uninformed lady in Delhi and she threw hard looks towards him.

Saha’s unique style and perspective have caught the attention of many, and it’s not hard to see why. His photographs are not just beautiful, but they also tell a story. Each shot is carefully composed and thought out, capturing the essence of the subject in a way that’s both raw and authentic. He has a keen eye for detail and is always looking for new ways to challenge himself and push the boundaries of his craft.

It is no surprise then that Saha is not just a photographer, he’s also a teacher. He has a passion for sharing his knowledge and experience with others and has been known to mentor aspiring photographers who are looking to improve their skills. He has a wealth of knowledge to share and is always willing to give advice and tips to those who are just starting out.

So, if you’re looking for an artist who’s got the talent, passion, and drive to tell stories
through his lens, look no further than Ratnadwip Saha. He’s one photographer you won’t want to miss! With his unique style, perspective, and ability to connect with his subjects, Saha’s photographs are sure to leave a lasting impression on anyone who sees them. His passion for photography is contagious and it’s clear that he is destined for great things.
