Electoral Awareness Team Visits KC Public School

Dr. Vikas Sharma, (JKAS), Assistant Commissioner of Development (Jammu) along with other members of Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) visited KC Public school today morning to spread awareness among students about the parliamentary elections taking place in the country this year. Dr. Sharma is the Nodal Officer of the SVEEP team in Jammu. He was accompanied by Dr. Avineet Parasher, an ardent supporter of voters’ education and awareness about electoral process.

Dr. Sharma and other team members of  SVEEP addressed KCPS students in the school activity hall and exhorted them to understand and accept  the significance of their roles in motivating the citizens of a democratic country to exercise their right to franchise. They underlined the gravity of the situation in our country where a sizable number of voters are either unaware of or reluctant to exercise their right to vote to elect representatives for the State Assemblies and the National Parliament. They pointed out that students as future voters should play the role of brand ambassadors of electoral participation and thereby create awareness among the masses for larger participation in the electoral process. It was indicated clearly that KCPS has been shortlisted as a brand ambassador school in Jammu region for the implementation of electoral awareness programme.

Principal Amarendra Kumar Mishra thanked Dr. Sharma and other members of the SVEEP team for trusting KCPS students as brand ambassadors of the awareness programme and assured full cooperation from KC Public School and its management in the effective implementation of the programme.
