Drug peddler arrested with 12.68 gm Heroin in Kathua’s Logate Morh

KATHUA, 28 February 2024: Acting tough against drug dealings, Kathua Police recovered/seized12.68 grams of heroin (chitta) like narcotics at Logate Morh near Bridge area of P/S Kathua and one drug peddler arrested on the spot.

On dated 28.02.2024, an information was received from the reliable sources at PS Kathua that one person namely Lal Chand @Akshay Kumar R/o Saktey Chak Tehsil & District Kathua is indulged in illegal trade of selling narcotics like contraband substance and roaming at Logate Morh, Sehar Khat area.

Acting swiftly police team of PS Kathua under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua & SHO PS Kathua during naka/checking at Logate Morh near Bridge area apprehended said person and asked him to stop for checking purpose.

During checking, approx. 12.68 grams of heroin like narcotics was recovered from the possession of said person namely Lal Chand @Akshay Kumar R/o Saktey Chak Tehsil & District Kathua. Thereafter all the recovered narcotics i.e. approx. 12.68 grams of Heroin was seized and said person was arrested by the police party on spot.

In this connection, a case vide FIR No. 63/2024 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act got registered at P/S Kathua and further investigation was taken up.
