Drug peddler apprehended in Wussan Baramulla, contraband seized

Baramulla Police scored a win in their fight against drug trafficking with the arrest of a suspected peddler in Wussan. The apprehended individual was found in possession of 32 grams of a substance believed to be charas, an illicit narcotic.

According to police, a Naka (checkpoint) was established at a strategic location in Wussan. During routine checking, a man was stopped and searched. Upon inspection, authorities recovered 32 grams of a substance suspected to be charas, along with a gold ring and ₹250 in cash.

The man was promptly arrested, and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police have initiated an investigation to determine the source of the drugs and identify any potential accomplices.
