DPEO inspects Polling Station locations in district Ramban

RAMBAN, December 31:   District Panchayat Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner), Ramban, Mussarat Islam today visited several polling station locations in   Block Ramban and Batote of district Ramban  to review the progress on Revision of Panchayat Electoral Rolls, 2023.

The DPEO was accompanied by the Deputy District Election Officer, Ramban, Lal Chand and various other officers of concerned departments.

The DPEO also interacted with the PRIs and staff at Panchayat Kunfer, Dalwas, Champa and Dharmod deputed to enroll eligible electors who are attaining the age of 18 years as on 1st January 2023. 

While inspecting the process being adopted by the PEBOs, BLOs and staff of the Election Department for information and registration of eligible voters, the DPEO directed the PEBOs, BLOs and concerned officers to sensitize the public in general and eligible voters in particular, to register themselves on the electoral roll to take the right to franchise.

Appreciating the Election Department for organizing various attractive and informative activities under SVEEP to sensitize the youth, especially prospective voters to enroll themselves as voters during the Revision of Panchayat Electoral Rolls 2023, the DPEO asked that the PRIs, prominent citizens, and members of civil society play a proactive role during the period of Revision to register the eligible voters of their respective areas. He also directed the concerned to expedite the pace of progress so that   the Revision of  Panchayat Electoral Roll is completed in a time bound manner.

Speaking on the occasion, the Dy. DEO exhorted upon the PEBOs and BLOs to focus on the registration of each and every eligible voter ensuring cent percent enrollments of prospective voters in the areas of their respective Polling Stations.

 During the day-long special camps, the eligible electors submitted forms for the inclusion of their names in the Panchayat Electoral Roll. The PEBOs of the concerned Panchayats also received forms for deletion, correction, and transposition from the people wherever required.

The Election team headed by Election Naib Tehsildar also visited various Panchayats of Sangaldan, Gandhri and Gundi Dharam Blocks and reviewed the progress of registration process.
