DLSA Samba launches Legal Awareness & Outreach programme

SAMBA, November 07: District Legal Services Authority, Samba today kick-started Legal Awareness and Outreach programme in District Samba on the eve of celebration of Legal Services Week and to commemorate the Legal Services Day, to be observed on 9th of November. The Awareness and Outreach programmes will be carried out by DLSA Samba from 7th of November to 11th of November, 2023.

The Legal Awareness and Outreach program started today by flagging off Mobile Van to spread awareness and also to reach to every person in District Samba.

The awareness van was flagged off  by Yesh Pal Kotwal, Chairman District Legal Services Authority Samba in the presence of Preet Simran Grover, Chief Judicial Magistrate Samba,  Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary DLSA Samba, AnantaRaina, Addl. District Mobile Magistrate Samba, Himani Parihar, Munsiff Samba, UrvashiRaina,  Addl. Munsiff Samba, Officers of Prosecution Wing, Samba,  President and other members of Bar Association, Samba, Panel Advocates, Staff of District Courts Samba and DLSA Samba as well as PLVs of DLSA Samba.

 In his address, the Chairman District Legal Services Authority Samba spoke about the history behind the Legal Services Authorities Act 1987. He also highlighted the working of Legal Services functionaries i.e NALSA, Supreme Court Legal Services Committees, State Legal Services Authorities, High Court Legal Services Committees, District Legal Services Authorities and Tehsil Legal Services Committees under this Act and how an entitled beneficiary under section 12 of Legal Services Authorities Act 1987 can approach the office of DLSA Samba for free legal aid and assistance. The Mobile   Van will remain stationed in the interior areas of Samba, Rakh, Amb, Tali, Rehian, Mawa, Pangdour, Rajpura, Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School Samba, Govt. Higher Secondary School, Rajpura and other remote and far flung areas of District Samba, wherein a team of Panel Advocates and PLVs will impart mass legal awareness to masses living in remote areas of District Samba.

The purpose of the legal awareness and outreach programme is to educate the general public on their legal rights, entitlements and remedies as provided by the Indian Constitution and other welfare laws.
