DLSA Budgam, CPWF organise impactful event to celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities

DLSA Budgam committed to Nurture the well being of Disabled Persons: Chairman

BUDGAM, December 06: In a vibrant and enlightening celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Budgam, in collaboration with Caring People Welfare Foundation (Trust), organised an impactful event at the Conference Hall of ADR Centre Budgam.

The event witnessed the presence and active participation of Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Chairman, DLSA (PDJ), Budgam, as the Chief Guest. Jahangir Bakshi, Secretary of DLSA, Budgam, Muzamil Ahmad Najar, and Chairman CPWFT were also present.

Muzamir Ahmad Najar (Chairman CPWFT) spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of celebration of Disability Day. He apprised the audience that his trust is always available for the help of disabled persons and in future they intend to organize more such programmes in collaboration with the DLSA Budgam.

Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Chairman DLSA Budgam in his presidential address said that the observance of the day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well being of persons with disabilities. He further said that DLSA Budgam is committed to working to build a truly inclusive society and supporting disabled people to live their lives to the fullest potential.

He also appreciated the caring People Welfare Trust for being collaborative partners of today’s event. He also thanked the participants for taking the time to be part of this event and celebrate our diversity.

Jehangir Ahmad Bakhshi, Secretary DLSA Budgam in his address said that the celebration of the day aims to understand disability issues and gaining support to ensure that their rights to well being, dignity and equal opportunities are practiced.

In his speech, he also gave the full background of the celebration of the Disability Day. He further said that the specially-abled persons are as important to live in society as to the normal person. He further said that a society cannot grow without having the active participation of these persons.

The programme was attended by LADCs, PLVs and official staff of DLSA Budgam.
