Div Com reviews working of Revenue Department in Samba District

SAMBA, AUGUST 08: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar today visited Samba district and reviewed the revenue-related matters within the district here at a meeting held in DC Office complex.

The meeting delved into the critical subject of digitizing Jamabandies, the historical land revenue records. The meeting was informed that commendable progress has been made, with digitization of 380 Jamabandies out of the total 382.

 The Div Com directed concerned officers to finalise the digitization of the remaining two Jamabandies for Bagia and Kartholi villages by September 30, 2023. The SDM Vijaypur was asked to actively oversee the weekly progress of Jamabandies’ digitization and regularly report to DC Samba.

The meeting also discussed the recreation of Massavies (revenue documents). Instructions were issued to the concerned authorities, including SDM Vijaypur and Tehsildars Vijaypur and Bari-Brahmana, to complete the Masavi within specified timelines. These endeavors involve close collaboration with the Forest Department and the Irrigation Department to ensure accurate Massavi documentation.

The meeting also discussed the imperative task of Geo-referencing of Cadastral Maps and Certificates. A directive was issued for all villages to undergo Geo-referencing, a crucial step to enhance land record accuracy and accessibility.

The Change of Land Use (CLU) matters were meticulously reviewed by the Div Com during the meeting. He underscored the significance of swift case disposal in adherence to PSGA guidelines. A comprehensive analysis of rejection rates and underlying causes was undertaken to ensure seamless service quality for applicants.

The meeting ended with a thrust on administrative efficiency. Reports from the Sub-Divisional Level Committee and District Level Committee, along with associated recommendations, were called for, further highlighting the commitment to expeditious procedures.

The Divisional Commissioner also emphasized the necessity of speedy removal of structures along the alignment of the Delhi Katra Amritsar Express-way. He mandated NHAI to establish a priority-driven schedule for removal, supported by daily reviews from ADC Samba.

This meeting underlined the significance of streamlined procedures, systematic document management, and judicious allocation of responsibilities within the revenue domain.

The Div the Divisional Commissioner Jammu also reviewed Delhi Katra Expressway land acquisition cases and disbursement of compensation he directed concerned officers to expedite the progress for smooth execution of work on the road project.

The Div Com also reviewed in detail progress on land transfer cases, online revenue services, court cases and functioning of e-offices.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma; Additional Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sub Divisional Magistrates, Tehsildars and other concerned officers.
