Distt admin Pulwama organizes ‘Sundays on Cycle’ event

PULWAMA, JUNE 01: District Administration Pulwama, in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services & Sports Pulwama, successfully organized a ‘Sundays on Cycle’ event today on the occasion of ‘World Bicycle Day’ as part of the nationwide Fit India Movement.

The initiative aimed to promote cycling as a means to encourage physical fitness, eco-friendly transportation and methods to reduce carbon emission.

The cyclothon was flagged-off by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Pulwama, Dr. S.M. Ashraf, in the presence of the District Youth Services and Sports Officer Pulwama. The cycle rally commenced from the Administrative Complex Pulwama and culminated at the Sports Stadium Pulwama.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. S.M. Ashraf highlighted the importance of incorporating physical activity into daily routines and emphasised the role of cycling in fostering a healthy and active lifestyle.

This event was part of the 25th edition of the ‘Sundays on Cycle’ campaign, which is being organized across India. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth, local residents, and officials.
