DC Athar inaugurates, presides over programme
KULGAM, MAY 30: District Administration Kulgam on Friday conducted a day-long capacity building workshop on Women Entrepreneurship.
The event was inaugurated and presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan.
In his address, DC highlighted the immense business opportunities emerging from India’s status as the world’s 4th largest economy, along with the transformative potential of having over 80 crore internet users, which opens up vast markets and digital avenues for entrepreneurs, especially women.
The workshop featured a series of technical sessions focusing on key areas such as enterprise development, startup ecosystems, sectoral potential within the district, and government schemes for financial and institutional support.
Discussions also covered access to finance, market linkages, and sector-specific opportunities across agriculture and primary sectors, manufacturing and secondary sectors, as well as services.
The event also showcased inspiring success stories of local women entrepreneurs, aimed at motivating aspiring participants.
ADC Kulgam, Viqar Ahmed Giri; JDP Zahid Sajjad; DSWO and other officers were also present in the programme.
