District Administration, RNA Media Group Organises Seminar on Drug Abuse  at Shopian

SHOPIAN, November 29: RNA Media Group  in collaboration with District Administration Shopian today organised an awareness programme, titled “Rising drug abuse, defeat the death trap” here in the Auditorium Hall of IMGDC Shopian.

SSP, Shopian, Tanushree was the Chief Guest, on the occasion.

SSP in her address highlighted the need to protect our youngsters from this menace. She said drug abuse poses a serious challenge to our society and urged upon the audience to act vibrantly against this menace. 

   She said that it is  the responsibility of the parents to closely monitor their children and urged them to help their wards choose different career avenues through which they can channelize their potential and energy in a positive way. 

   She further added that to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, public cooperation is necessary and stressed upon the participants to share all such information related to drug addicts as well as drug supply in the area especially in and around the Schools so that police can act swiftly.

The speakers threw light on drug abuse and its repercussions on the health and betterment of the society.

 Students of various educational institutions took part in the debate competition and also spoke and highlighted the causes and consequences of drug abuse.

A film show regarding drug abuse was also presented. Trophies and certificates were  distributed among the best speakers.

The audience thanked RNA Media Group for organising such drug abuse awareness programme in the district.
