District Administration celebrates National Unity, UT Foundation Day in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, October 31: As part of the celebration of National Unity Day and Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (UT) Foundation Day, the district administration Udhampur organized a series of events to commemorate the 148th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the District .

Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Saloni Rai, presided as the chief guest and flagged off the “Run for Unity” rally from Mini Stadium Udhampur in the presence of SSP Joginder Singh and other senior officers.

Additional District Development Commissioner Ghan Sham Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Joginder Singh Jasrotia, ASP Anwar-Ul-Haq, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral, ACD Dr. Ranjeet Singh Kotwal, along with district officers from various departments, prominent citizens participated in the rally.

During her address, the DC emphasized the significance of national unity and UT Foundation Day, urging participants to follow the path of national integration. She encouraged them to promote peace, harmony, unity, and integrity within society. The DC underscored that the event’s primary purpose is to maintain communal harmony, integration, and a sense of belonging among various sections of society.

The rally, comprising of staff members and students from various educational institutions, carried banners and placards conveying messages of unity, integrity, and upholding the ideals envisioned by the legendary leader.

The route of the rally passed through Town Hall, MH Chowk, Devika etc and culminated at Government PG Degree College Udhampur.

Earlier, a pledge-taking ceremony was administered by the Deputy Commissioner to officers, officials from different departments, and students from various educational institutions at Mini Stadium Udhampur.

Similarly, different sub-divisions, tehsil headquarters, and educational institutions across the district also observed National Unity Day by administering the pledge to spread the message among the masses.
