Director Panchayati Raj reviews developmental works in Samba, RS Pura, Suchetgarh
JAMMU, JUNE 14: Director Panchayati Raj Jammu & Kashmir Sham Lal today visited Samba district, RS Pura and Suchetgarh areas to review the progress of ongoing developmental works and assess the performance of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) on the ground.
During the visit, he interacted with locals including the former-Sarpanch at Panchayat Ghar, Gharana, where he reviewed the functioning of the Panchayat Learning Centre (PLC) and issued necessary directions to the Panchayat Secretary for its effective utilization and outreach.
As part of the capacity-building agenda, the Director conducted a hands-on training session on the Panchayat Assessment Index (PAI).
He emphasized the importance of digital governance and data-driven decision-making at the grassroots level.
Later, the Director inspected the local Common Services Centre (CSC) and urged the staff to ensure efficient and citizen-friendly service delivery.
He also inspected the under-construction Panchayat Ghars at Flora and Kotli Gala Bana (Block RS Pura). The director interacted with local representatives and assured timely completion of the twin assets.
A meeting was also held with the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) RS Pura and Tehsildar RS Pura to discuss land-related issues concerning pending Panchayat Ghars.
Later in the day, Sham Lal visited Samba district along with the Assistant Commissioner Panchayat (ACP) and BDO Ghagwal.
He inspected the Panchayat Learning Centre at Ghagwal, which was found to be non-functional. He directed officials to make it functional immediately.
