Director Horticulture Jammu visited PEQ Centre Marta

UDHAMPUR, JAMMU 25:  Director Horticulture Jammu Gul Sayed today visited Post- Entry Quarantine Centre Marta, Tehsil Ram Nagar, District Udhampur and inspected the Clonal Root Stock of Apple belonging to M9 series planted under P-21 of HADP. During the visit, Chief Horticulture Officer, Udhampur Brij Vallabh Gupta briefed the Director Horticulture Jammu that about 6,78,500 nos. of clonal root stock of Apple (M-9)was planted at the centre.

Progress of different works under NABARD for an approved action plan of Rs 10.00 crore viz: Construction of Approach Road, Terraces Formation, Working Shed, Cold Room, Parking Sheds etc. were also inspected by Director Horticulture Jammu. Multiplication of clonal root stock through mound layering was also viewed.

Director Horticulture issued on spot instructions for speed upof different works under progress. He also instructed the staff to work with zeal & dedication for the welfare of the farming community and appreciated the works executed and other activities being carried over in PEQ Marta.

Further, Director Horticulture also visited Govt. Fruit Plant Nursery, Ram Nagar and asked for immediate repairing of Hi-Tech Poly Green House Structure.

During the tour, Director Horticulture was also accompanied by DHO Udhampur, DLSMS (P.P), HDO and other officials.
