DIPR organises awareness program on Nasha Mukt Abhiyan at GHSS Nagam Chadoora
BUDGAM, MAY 21: A day-long awareness program under the banner of Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan was organized today at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Nagam by the Cultural Unit Kashmir, Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) J&K, in collaboration with GHSS Nagam.
The event witnessed active participation from students, teachers and artists, all coming together to raise their voices against the alarming rise of drug abuse in society.
Student speakers eloquently addressed the ill effects of substance abuse and stressed the need for immediate and collective action to eradicate the menace.
In her address, Vice Principal of GHSS Nagam, Afshana Ashraf emphasized the crucial role educational institutions must play in spreading awareness about drug abuse and counseling the youth against such harmful practices.
Cultural Officer Kashmir, Burhan Hussain underlined the importance of mass awareness in countering the widespread issue of drug addiction, particularly among the younger generation.
A powerful thematic song was presented by Feroz Ahmed Shah and his group, earning loud applause from the audience for its emotional resonance and impactful message.
The highlight of the event was a short play staged by artists from Tulkul Arts, which creatively portrayed the social and psychological consequences of drug abuse and left a lasting impression on the audience.
Principal GHSS Nagam, Tahir-ul-Hamid, thanked the Cultural Unit Kashmir, DIPR for organizing the event and appealed to all societal stakeholders to empathize with and support the emotional and mental well-being of the youth.
Certificates of appreciation were awarded to the participating students in recognition of their efforts.
The program concluded with a solemn pledge administered by Cultural Officer, Burhan Hussain, reaffirming commitment towards a drug-free society
