Digital transformation awareness programme held at GCW Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, September 05: The Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur proudly celebrated a momentous Digital Awareness Program in collaboration with J&K Science Technology & Innovation Council, Udhampur shedding light on the importance of digital transformation and awareness in today’s fast-paced world.

The event, held in the college premises, brought together distinguished guests, faculty members, students, and experts in the field of technology and digital services.

The highlight of the event was the gracious presence of the esteemed Chief Guest, Prof. Anjali Mahajan, the college Principal. Prof. Mahajan is a renowned academician and an inspiring figure in the educational arena.

The program commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Prof. Anjali Mahajan,  Rajinder Kumar Digra,  Shruti Khanna, Dr. Sanjeet Kour, Prof. Kewal Kumar, and Prof. Binny Kumar participated in unison, symbolizing the enlightenment that digital awareness brings to our lives.

The program then burst into cultural celebrations with the melodious “Sarswati Bandana” by the talented students of the Music Department. Shruti Khanna, District Coordinator from the Department of Science and Technology, delivered a warm and welcoming address, setting the tone for the informative sessions ahead.

The audience was treated to an enlightening lecture on the “Role of National Informatics Centre in Digital Transformation” by the knowledgeable resource person, Anish Sharma, District Informatics Officer, NIC Udhampur.

Sanjeev Kumar Magotra, Branch Head of JK Bank Gole Market, Udhampur, then took the stage, delivering an insightful lecture on “General Banking Services” in the digital age.

The program continued with a captivating theme-based Nukkad Natak presented by the spirited students of GCW Udhampur.

Arun Gupta, Chief Librarian at GCW Udhampur, elucidated on “Digital Services provided by Higher Education Institutions”, shedding light on the advancements in education technology.

The cultural extravaganza continued with a mesmerizing Dogri Folk Dance performance by the talented students, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Sourabh Kumar Sharma, coordinator CSC Udhampur interacted with the students and faculty members of GCW Udhampur and provided insight into the services offered by the CSC and how you can avail the benefit of these services.

The program wrapped up with a heartfelt “Vote of Thanks” by Dr. Sumit Sharma, Member of the Institution Innovation Council.  

Among others present on the occasion were Sanjeev Upadhyay (Assistant Professor in Sanskrit), Rekha Sharma (Assistant Professor in Dogri), Pooja Bharti (Assistant Professor in Geography), Dr. Sanjay Kumar (Assistant Professor in Music), Yash Kumar (Assistant Professor in Music) and a large number of students.
